Tottenham’s Italian connection
It is safe to say that Tottenham may be entering the Serie A market with much more regularity in the coming windows.
Having recruited Fabio Paratici as their new Director of Football, who spent years in the higher reaches of Juventus, they have already begun raiding the Italian top flight.
Both Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero joined from Atalanta in the summer on loan with options to buy, and they have since recruited Italian Antonio Conte as their manager following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo in October.
✍️ We are delighted to announce the appointment of Antonio Conte as our Head Coach on a contract until the summer of 2023, with an option to extend.

With investment likely given the circumstances surrounding Conte’s arrival, after he rejected the Lilywhites just two months prior. With two esteemed men of Italian football at the helm, there is perhaps no more attractive prospect for Serie A players than a move to Tottenham to work with them.
And they could be about to repeat their trick to land another Serie A man.
Insigne on the way?
Now, they are allegedly in Pole position to bring Lorenzo Insigne to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The 30 year-old winger is out of contract with Napoli in the summer, and has shown no desire to extend his current deal in the south of Italy.
And now, speaking to Area Napoli, Italian journalist Fabio Santini claims he could be on his way to north London.
The closest team to Lorenzo Insigne is Tottenham. Their executive, Fabio Paratici is courting him closely,”
“Aurelio De Laurentiis is not bothered, quite the contrary. The patron believes the English one could be the right solution because Il Magnifico would leave Italy and, consequently, would not join a rival Serie A club.”
“Antonio Conte is crazy about Lorenzo Insigne and would like the player as early as January… Lorenzo Insigne, of course, is flattered by the interest of both Conte and Tottenham, but he is undecided,”
“He would not want to break up with Napoli during the current season. There have been meetings with Inter and Juventus, but Tottenham is the club closest to the player.”
Would he be a good addition for Tottenham?
